Privacy Policy

TS Coating Technology Laboratory Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”).

 

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal Information” shall refer to “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual which can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data related to appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from the information itself, such as the insurer number on a health insurance card (personal identification information).

 

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

The Company may ask for personal information such as name, address, telephone number, and email address when a user registers for the Service. Additionally, the Company may collect transaction records including the user’s personal information and information related to payments made between the user and our partners, from our partners (including information providers, advertisers, ad distributors, etc.; hereinafter referred to as “Partners”).

 

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

    • To provide and operate our Service.
    • To respond to inquiries from users (including for identity verification).
    • To send emails about new features, updates, campaigns, etc., of the service the user is currently using, as well as information about other services provided by the Company.
    • For necessary communications, such as maintenance and important notices.
    • To identify users who have violated the Terms of Use or who intend to use the service for fraudulent or unjust purposes, and to refuse their use of the Service.
    • To allow users to view, change, or delete their own registered information and view their usage status.
    • To bill users for usage fees in paid services.
    • Purposes incidental to the above purposes.

 

Article 4 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)

The Company shall change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably deemed that the new purpose is related to the purpose before the change.
If the purpose of use is changed, the Company shall notify the user of the changed purpose by a method prescribed by the Company or publicly announce it on this website.

 

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

Except in the following cases, the Company will not provide personal information to a third party without the prior consent of the user. However, this excludes cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations.

    • When it is necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
    • When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
    • When it is necessary to cooperate with a state organ, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by one in executing the affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual is likely to impede the execution of the said affairs.
    • When the following matters have been announced or published in advance, and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission:
      • The items of data to be provided to the third party.
      • The means or method of provision to the third party.
      • Stopping the provision of personal information to a third party at the request of the individual.
      • Including the provision to a third party in the purpose of use.
      • The method of accepting the individual’s request.

 

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the recipient of the said information shall not be considered a third party.

    • When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
    • When personal information is provided as a result of business succession due to a merger or other reasons.
    • When personal information is jointly used with a specific party, and the individual has been notified in advance of that fact, the items of the personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the joint users, the purpose of use of the users, and the name or title of the person responsible for the management of the personal information, or when such information is made readily accessible to the individual.

 

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When requested by the individual to disclose their personal information, the Company will disclose it to the individual without delay. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following, we may not disclose all or part of it, and if a decision is made not to disclose, we will notify the individual of that fact without delay. A fee of 1,000 JPY will be charged for each disclosure of personal information.

    • When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party.
    • When there is a risk of significantly impeding the proper execution of the Company’s business.
    • When it would violate other laws and regulations.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as historical information and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.

 

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

If the user’s own personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add, or delete the personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Corrections, etc.”) through procedures established by the Company.
If the Company determines that it is necessary to respond to the request from the user as set forth in the preceding paragraph, the Company shall make the Corrections, etc., to the said personal information without delay.
When the Company has made Corrections, etc., based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to make Corrections, etc., it will notify the user of this without delay.

 

Article 8 (Suspension of Use, etc., of Personal Information)

If the Company is requested by an individual to suspend the use of or delete their personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that it was obtained by fraudulent means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if it is determined that it is necessary to respond to the request, the Company will perform the Suspension of Use, etc., of the said personal information without delay.
When the Company has performed the Suspension of Use, etc., based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to perform the Suspension of Use, etc., it will notify the user of this without delay.
Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if the Suspension of Use, etc., involves a large amount of expense or is otherwise difficult to perform, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the rights and interests of the user, this alternative measure shall be taken.

 

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to the user, except for matters otherwise stipulated in laws and regulations or in this Policy.
Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
